Public Health Nurse Blames Flu Shot On Widespread Outbreak

This year’s flu season has resulted in utter-mayhem, no matter who you ask or what your opinion over the matter may well be. The media has honed in on every single case of flu symptoms and reported it as flu, even in situations where flu symptoms, were not, in fact, the flu. Many believe that the flu diagnosis procedure has become increasingly loose and lazy which is contributing to increased case numbers. And then there is the fact that strep and other illnesses have often been at the root of sicknesses for men but aren’t tested for as much, or at all.

Now a nurse for public health is blaming the flu shot’s poor effectiveness on the widespread outbreak.

“I believe that the low effective rate of the vaccine this year is due to the mutations that the virus made in the processing of the vaccine itself,” said Anna Treague, nurse for Public Health. “That is at least part of the reason that influenza cases are so widespread this year.” – source

Teague also believes that people should still receive a flu shot, as absurd as that may seem.

Spot the contradiction:

“The H3N2 strain also has proven to not be as impacted by the vaccines as other strains,” Treague said.

and…

“If you are able, get the flu shot,” Treague said. “Even if the flu vaccine isn’t as effective as it has been in year’s past it does help. Some protection is better than no protection.”

It’s certainly odd to recommend a shot that simply does not work. This is what keeps the flu shot manufacturer in business, the quality of their product doesn’t matter.
