STUDY: Serious Vaccine Reactions Rarely Recur

According to some mantra, vaccine side effects never happen. But somehow, a new study is showing that they do happen, but the light at the end of the tunnel is that they won’t happen again. In other words, if your child has an adverse reaction to a vaccine, you can give the same vaccine to the kid again and not worry about thing.

According to WebMD

MONDAY, Aug. 28, 2017 (HealthDay News) — When a child has a serious reaction to a vaccine, the chances of it happening again are slim, a new analysis suggests.

The review, of 29 studies, found that severe vaccine reactions recurred rarely, if ever, when a child received the same vaccine again, or one with similar ingredients. Those reactions included seizures and a potentially dangerous allergic response called anaphylaxis.

Unless it is a fever, because those seemed to come back, according the same article. The CDC says that most of these side effects are considered minor. But when it comes to allergic reactions and seizures, Dr. Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, doesn’t want you to fear giving the vaccine again.

“This is one of the most common questions I get,” he said.

He is calling it “welcome information.”

What do you think? Would you give your child the same vaccine again that caused a seizure the first time?

  1. My question is, if a child has a severe reaction to something, like a bee sting, they are cautioned to beware of that because if the body is sensitized it will react even more severely the next time, right? And they are often prescribed an epi-pen. If they have a reaction to peanuts they are told to stay away from them because of another, possibly fatal, anaphylactic reaction. How are vaccines different? If a child had a severe reaction to any of the ingredients in a vaccine, how is re-exposing the child to the same ingredients even logical? Are vaccines the ONLY drugs that don’t come with risk? EVERY prescription and OTC drug is contraindicated if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. EVERY drug.

    • Beckie: you’re EXACTLY right. I’ve said this same thing for years. I’ll add one more: If someone has an allergic reaction to a drug, such as penicillin, the person is advised to wear a MEDIC ALERT tag or bracelet and for the rest of their life, never take that drug or even a similar drug in the same class!! Yes, vaccines are the ONLY drug that are 100% harmless, 100% effective (protetive), 100% necessary. And with vaccination, it is the ONLY are of medicine that I know if that does NOT take family health history or personal health history is NOT important and not considered. AT. ALL.

Absolutely not. Vaccines are a joke. Tetnus and Oral polio may be OK. the rest do not really make you immune; just give you doses or Toxins.

I wouldn’t give them the opportunity to vaccinate once let alone twice. I did my research and none of my children were vaccinated. Paul Offit has gold fever and needs some serious treatment. This is the guy who says a child can take 10,000 vaccines. If that is so and I do not believe it for an instance, then let him demonstrate that, on himself for all to see.
