A Fairfax County child has a confirmed case of measles. The child is reportedly fully vaccinated. The child is being treated at Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, VA. The child was not old enough for the second MMR dose, which is likely to be the point of contention by the CDC as a way of creating an excuse for the child contracting the illness.

This, according to the Washington Post.

According to the CDC National Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), children should receive two doses of the vaccine because about 2%-5% of people do not develop immunity after the first dose of vaccine.

The CDC does not take lightly any marks against vaccines. You can expect the company line to remain unchanged as people begin looking for answers as to why a fully vaccinated child would still contract the illness. Is it possible the first round of MMR infected the child with the measles? It is likely will never know.

The child has been released from the hospital and is no longer considered contagious.
