Happy Hour with DrT

Happy Hour with DrT is a daily Instagram Live broadcast to take a “busy-ness break” away from life for the next few minutes. We come together to have a few laughs, to get to know each other as a like-minded community, and most importantly, to share the Word of God and Pray. You can refer back to this page for our daily verses and prayers.

Tonight’s Prayer

Lord, Thank You for this opportunity stop for a few minutes and literally count our blessings. We don’t always see what is right in front of us. Thank you, Lord, for the blessings You have showered into our lives. You have given us family and friends who bless us with kind words and encouragement. Thank you, Lord, for keeping us safe from physical harm and free from illness. Thank You for helping us make the best possible choices within the menu of difficult decisions. Thank You for speaking to us in a voice that we can hear. Keep us ever mindful of the needs of others. Help us to always remember to pay forward the acts of kindness given to us from others. Thank You for being ever-present in our lives. Thy will be done – in Jesus’ name. Amen.

June 18, 2020.  Matthew 11:28-39. “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up My yoke and learn from me, and you will find rest for your soul.”

I don’t know about you guys, but the last six months have been a burden. I admit that I feel weary of the battle right now. It’s been a long stretch without a single day off and the mountain in front of us is a formidable force.  I’m sure many of you have been stretched tinsel-thin and are carrying burdens far beyond anything you have imagined before.

I heard on the radio yesterday morning that due to this coronavirus fiasco, the public’s happiness is at a 50-year low, with only 14% being “very happy” – Apparently, people are assessing their happiness to before and after the shutdown.

Most prominently, Americans report feeling anxious, depressed, or irritable compared to two years ago …and most importantly, this “social distancing’ has left many feel isolated and alone. Study: https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-06-happiness-americans-dips-five-decade.html

How many of you does this resonate with: feeling unhappy, isolated and alone due to wearing these WORTHLESS masks and maintaining SOCIAL DISTANCING?

I know I miss the human touch of shaking hands. I miss spontaneous hugs. I miss speaking with others freely in grocery stores…and the loss of seeing faces that are now hidden behind a mask is disturbing. I’ve been saying for months now: this is NOT about a “virus” – it is an economic war, being wagged not only against President Trump, but against those who supported him and voted him into office (THINK: conservative censorship, closing churches, only allowing 10 people to gather…)

The times we are facing brings to mind another verse, Isaiah 40:29He gives strength to the weary and strengthens the powerless.”  When we are weary, we need to seek Him, more than ever. We also need to find HUMANS who don’t buy in to “story” they are continuing to feed us. We need comfort from human touch.

Tonight’s Prayer:

Dear Lord, we know You are always present, but sometimes, You seem far away. It’s not You who has moved, it’s us. We have withdrawn from You…not the other way around.  We need to lean into You the way we would lean into a friend or a spouse or significant other who is here to comfort us. We need to feel Divine Love from You – which we can find through Your Word and through the fellowship of others. Thank You for being as constant as the rays from the sun. We know You are only a whisper away. May Thy will be done in our daily lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

June 17, 2020: Hebrews 10: 24-25 – And let us continue to consider how to motivate one another to love and good deeds, *not neglecting to meet together,* (as is the habit of some), but encouraging one another even more as you see the day of the Lord coming nearer.”

Christians have an obligation to fellowship with other Christians. Gathering together is necessary to encourage, motivate and inspire each other to stand strong in God’s Love. We need to do good things for one another. As I’ve said before, it’s Universal irony that we can use Instagram – owned by Facebook – to have fellowship with Christians from all over the world.

We never see ourselves the way that others see us. We look in the mirror and see our flaws, remember our mistakes, pick at our imperfections. When God looks at us, He loves us divinely and loves us tenderly because we are His kids.

How else can we motivate each other to have courage? To resist the rulers, the powers of this dark world, that would control us, suppress us, mandatorily medicate us? What else can we do to encourage each other to TRUST? What can we do to motivate each other to use FAITH as both a noun (something tangible to hold to) and as a verb (directing God’s spirit to work for us)?

I hope this daily Happy Hour gathering will become part of your daily routine. I hope it will grow – and you will bring others to the Table. God gave me the courage to step out and step up to do this on a very public platform. God drew you to this place because we are a collective power for His work in these challenging times…which could very well be heading toward the End Times.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for using every tool available to get your Word to others. We are grateful to have this little gathering place on the Internet. We’re glad to spend this time together each day, sharing your Word and praying together. Bless everyone who is here – and those who will hear this later. Open each heart and mind to bring You closer to each one of us. Restore our natural state of well being.

We pray for our cities, our country, our president. We pray for protection over the “good cops.” We pray that the “good doctors” – those who see the scam of what’s going on with this virus – will have the courage to stand up and speak out. We pray that this “temporary abnormal” in our society will dissolve soon into the history books as the biggest mistake taken by Humans against Humanity. Lord, we ask for these things – this or something better. Thy will be done. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

June 16:  Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Trust…what does it really mean to TRUST?  The Dictionary says Trust is: To have or place confidence in; To depend on; To expect with assurance.

Notice that this is not a request; it is a command. It’s not optional. Our trust in God is not to be 50%, 75%, and even 95%. But it must be given 100%! We are to have complete confidence in God’s strength and His ability to direct our life path. Everything He does is for our benefit, even at times when things seem bleak and we don’t understand. It is easy to trust God when things are going well. But what happens to your TRUST in God when things fall apart? When we don’t understand things or things are hard, do we still trust God?

Most of us probably remember the poem by Margaret Fishback Powers called “FOOTPRINTS” – but for those who don’t know it, you can find in full it here.

“Lord you told me You would always walk and talks. But during the most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don’t understand. When I needed You the most, You were not there.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and I will never leave you. I would never leave you during trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, I was there; I was carrying you.”

What trials are you going through right now? Have you reached out to God… do you feel He’s not listening? Do you feel He’s ignoring you…or that He has abandoned you?

This is where Trust comes in…trusting with all your heart. Don’t try to figure it out. Turn it over. Let Him take the steering wheel of your life. Take the passenger’s seat. Maybe take a nap….

Prayer for Today:  Dear Lord, we live in troubling times. Many of us have lost our jobs, our businesses, our cities. Many of us have lost our health, have lost our loved ones, and are even at the end of our HOPE.

So Lord – today, right now – I remind myself and ACKNOWLEDGE that You are in control. Thank You for carrying me. I don’t understand what lies ahead for I can only see what’s in front of me. Today I renew my TRUST in You. I exercise my FAITH, both as a noun and as a verb. I place my heart in Your hands and renew my trust that You know what is exactly right for me.  Lord, I depend on You. I expect, with assurance, that You are in control. I have confidence that YOU know that what lies ahead FOR ME and You will direct my life according to Your Riches in Glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

June 15:  Ephesians 5:11-13 “Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but *instead expose them.* For it is shameful even to mention what is done by them in secret. Everything exposed by the light is made clear.”

This weekend was a big campaign on Twitter and Facebook called #ExposeBillGates. So much of the Darkness is coming to light: Fauci, Gates, General Flynn, and the Deep State are being smoked out. All of this unrest over BLM and the marching in the street is exposing the COVID19 as a scam – we don’t need masks; social distancing is nonsense; contact tracing is being exposed as spying; no one wants the phone app.

The Bible tells us directly:  DON’T PARTICIPATE IN THE FRUITLESS WORKS OF DARKNESS…expose them!  We must resist what is going on right now. We cannot accept this at the “new normal.” This is a temporary abnormality in life. God tells us to expose their evil doing to the Light.

We need some Eagles in our life. We cannot hang around with chickens and expect to change our current circumstances.  We can’t spend time with people who complain, who accept the current situation with little or no resistance – and expect to reclaim our Country.  We need to be with people who are soaring, people who think bigger than we do, people who will humble themselves, and pray.

My Prayer for Today: Dear Lord, help us to disconnect from people who are hindering our growth, limiting our potential, and causing us to compromise. Guide us to connections who are FAVORED by You. Help us find people who see the current circumstances the way we do. Give us Your courage, Lord, to fight for our country and to expose the evil that is raining down on us. With Your power, we will stand strong against the Mark of the Beast. Keep is in Your Wings. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

June 12:  1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.”

This is what Happy Hour with DrT is really about – encouraging one another… knowing you are not alone. We can collectively encourage each other in what we are doing: Being a dedicated parent; a tentative caretaker for an elderly or infirm parent or relative; Being a business owner trying to make sense of it all; or Being committed activist….or anyone with an avocation to many to list here. Together, we can look to God in the midst of the storm.

Tonight is only the 8th Happy Hour we’ve shared together…and there are already more than 1000 people following this page. Isn’t it interesting – maybe even ironic – that we can use a platform OWNED by Facebook, to connect people around the world for prayer and to talk about God?

Prayer for Today: Lord, patience is something that humans are NOT born with – it’s something we learn within the confines of being human. Thank you that Being Human means finding like-minded group we can resonate with. We are grateful, we can lean on You and trust that Your timing is perfect, no matter how difficult it may be to accept in Human time. Thank You for putting Your hand on the steering wheel of our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

June 11:  Matthew 17:20 Jesus told them. “For I assure you: If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Jesus said this to His disciples when they were unable to cast out a demon from a child with seizures. He scolded them for being rebellious and unbelieving. He then gave them a DIRECT message, told them what to do: have REAL faith.

I’ve been pondering this verse for some time now. According to Webster’s dictionary, FAITH in a noun. But we have accepted faith to be something akin to “wishful thinking” like when we say, “have faith it will happen.”

But real, spiritual FAITH is like anti-matter: it has substance, it has weight and is the strongest, most explosive power in the Universe. If the tiniest speck of REAL faith can move literal mountains, how much more can we manifest into our lives of we learn how to harness that God-given power into our Earthly lives?

I spent a little time trying to find the SIZE of a mustard seed. It’s 1-2mm in size – about the size of 1/8 of a black peppercorn. Surely, we must have that much faith, right? Then why aren’t our obstacles “tossed into the sea” every single day?

I have learned that Spiritual faith is not only a noun; it is also a VERB. FAITH, when exercised properly, is intense action, not a passive pleading.

If the amount of FAITH needed to move literal mountains is a tiny speck, we are not using it nearly enough. We are not tapping into FAITH to right the wrongs in our country, in our world….in our personal lives. Think about how powerful and intense FAITH really is when applied like a verb.

FAITH comes from the very heart and Power of God. *Faith is a power principle*; something to be exercised. If you reread that verse, FAITH is not passive hope. FAITH is something we need to learn how to use. Try this exercise:

  • Close your eyes
  • Draw God’s energy into your consciousness
  • Rap that energy in intense Spiritual love
  • Send out a “bubble” of intention toward the obstacle to be removed (blow it up!) or attaching that “bubble” like a suction cup to something you want to come into your life
  • Hold it steady – for minutes, hours, or even days – until you “know” things have changed and you’ve felt the shift

Remember, we are fighting powers and principalities. We need to use spiritual tools. God has given them to us. Let’s learn to use them.

My Prayer for Today: Lord, You admonished Your disciples and You gave us a directive: Have the tiniest speck of REAL faith, REAL power, and NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. You can do ANYTHING by tapping into the REAL Power of God. How much more we could do for each other if we behaved and acted as TRUE Children of God. We need to step into the power He has given us. They will be done…in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

June 10: 1 Peter 4:7-8,10. Because everything will soon come to an end, be sensible and clear-headed, so you can prayAbove all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

Love is the most powerful word in the universe. Recall that 1 Corinthians 13:13 says: “But now these three things remain: faith, hope, love; and the greatest of these is love.”
Think about what has happened in just the last 90 days – COVID19 arrives; global economy collapses; the collapse of entire industries; kids extracted from schools, friends, activities; loss of jobs, business closure; jobs change from office to home; masks, social distancing, quarantines, lockdowns.
And then….the truth started to come out: masks don’t protect; social distancing was a guess; quarantines and lockdowns not necessary; Kids rarely, if ever, contract this infection
And then…as if small businesses were not smashed to the ground enough, the final blow: race riots that led to Antifa destruction of property, destroying some of our greatest, most beautiful cities. And now that seems to be subsiding, what will be next….?
And now, those who are waking up to this Great Hoax are starting to get made…. They want JUSTICE where there seems to be none. What should we do? Should we take things into our own hands…or is there a better way to resolve these assaults on us, on our family, on our World?
1 Peter 4: 7-8 reminds us that all of this will end ….we need to stay grounded, sensible, clear-headed. Release anxiety, release FEAR of this virus, release FEAR of economic disruption…. Why? So that we can pray.
What should we be praying for? For God to fill our hearts with LOVE and forgiveness. Remember that even Jesus knew the masses were mostly followers when He said, Fatherforgive them, for they know not what they do.” He also commanded us to, “Love our enemies, and pray for our persecutors.”  If we pray for those who hurt us, God will take full responsibility for whatever punishment should be administered to offenders. It is our responsibility to overcome evil with good, and speaking words of blessing is one way to do that.
Prayer for Today: Dear Lord, as difficult as it is, You have told us to pray for those who have harmed our businesses. Pray for those who offended us. Pray for those who are trying to enslave us with mandatory vaccines and with crazy changes to our society and social structure. Your Word today reminds us that “love can cover a multitude of sins” —> even those whose sins we would rather fight against that give them over to you. Thank you for reminding us that Divine Love – not human love – can cover all that they have done. Thy will be done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

June 9: Proverbs 16:3 “Entrust [commit] your work to the LORD, and your planning will succeed.”

No matter what work you do – whether you’re a CEO of a big company, or work on in a factory, or you clean toilets for a living,  or you do the most important work of all – you’re a stay-at-home mom or dad – commit your work to the Lord. Do every action to please your Boss – which is the Lord.

What if you decided right now, to bloom where you’re planted? What if you listed everything you disliked about your job, then you realigned your mind and your heart about it…and said, “This I do for the Lord.”

Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, we know that if we trust in You, stand firm on Your Word and believe you deliver on Your promises in Your time, our plans will succeed. But in the meantime, we need to stay true to what we have right in front of us. It isn’t always easy, and we often don’t see the Plan until we are further down the road and can look back at how far we have come. Lord, starting today I will more consciously do my work, no matter how menial the task, to do it to the best of my ability to honor You. Be with me in my planning, so that I may be going in the direction You want me to go. Thy will be done. In Jesus Name, Amen.

June 8: Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in hope; be patient in trouble; be persistent in prayer.”

What is Biblical HOPE?
In the English language, “hope” implies doubt; “hope so” implies something may – or may not happen. Biblical hope is different. It has as its foundation faith in God.
Biblical hope comes from Hebrews 11:1 – “Faith is the assurance that what we hope for will come about; the proof of what is not seen.” Biblical hope carries no doubt. Biblical hope is a sure foundation upon which we base our lives, believing that God always keeps His promises.
Patience is one of the fruits of the Spirit. God rewards our patience by increasing our faith and trust that He has heard us and responds in Right Time. Exercising patience is hard, but it’s in our weakest moments that God reveals His strength. Here are a few quotes to inspire you when you are struggling with a situation that requires patience:
  • Patience is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.
  • You can’t rush something you want to last forever.
  • You may not see it, but you have to trust it’s on its way.
  • Be careful about rushing God’s timing. You don’t know what He is protecting you from.
The dictionary definition of persistence is this: Refusing to give up or let go
Now, re-read the verse. “Rejoice in hope; be patient in trouble; be persistent in prayer.”
Today’s Prayer
Dear Lord, Your Word gives clear direction to cover all situations in our lives. Help us to always rejoice in the hope of knowing You are in control. Allow us to clearly hear Your Plan for our life. Fill us with patience as a gift from You that we are anxious for nothing but in ALL things trust that You want only the best for us. For these assurances, we give thanks and will remain persistent in prayer. We trust You know best, as You restructure our lives in these challenging times. Thy will be done. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
June 5:  Romans 12:17-19, 21. “Do not pay anyone back evil for evil, but focus your thoughts on what is right in the sight of all people. If possible, live at peace with everyone. Do not seek revenge, but leave room for the wrath of God. For it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine’, says the Lord. ‘I will pay them back.’…..Do not be conquered by evil, but *conquer evil with good.*
What if those who were “called by God’s Name” – those who claim to know Him, had stood in the gap against this wave of violence? What if our President had read Romans 12:17-21 to the people when he walked to the church yesterday?  What can we do today….to conquer evil with good?
*Today’s Prayer*
Dear Lord, as those have no concept of right vs wrong, of good vs evil, of what it means to respect the property rights of others – as the Lawless Ones seem to be taking over our Country, thank You for reminding us, through Your Word, that YOU will have the final say as long as we choose to live in peace and stand firmly with You.  Remind us that we are to treat others in ways we wish to be treated: with kindness, with appreciation, with respect, and with love. Lord, YOUR people are praying, asking for your help. We believe that You are hearing our prayers. Thy will be done. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
June 4: John 14:27 “…My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Philippians 4:6-7  Do not fret or have anxiety about anything, but in every situation let your petitions [specific requests] be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving. And then God’s peace, which goes far beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
With all the turmoil going on across America and around the world, it certainly is easy to be troubled and afraid, to fret and have anxiety. We need to rest in God, knowing He’ll take care of it in *His* time…another thing that is often difficult for us to do: be patient.  We can overcome worry with acceptance by saying, “It is what it is.” This is not easy to do, as we watch the devastating destruction of our country. We can remind each me God is in control…
Today’s Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you that even now, in the midst of chaos, turmoil, and violence, we can find solace in you. Lord, we petition You to restore our countries to safety and with full prosperity. Heal the wounds that divide us. May Your Divine Hand be seen by all as You create miracles in our midst. Thy will be done. In Jesus Name, Amen.
June 3, 2020: 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, pray, seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

God is calling to HIS PEOPLE to pray; He’s calling those who claim to know Him. How many of God’s people are participating in “evil ways”? The list of offenses is no doubt long but begins with the Ten Commandments. I would add God’s people need to stop vaccinating, the “evil act” of injecting cow blood, known carcinogens, and cells of aborted fetal tissue into babies who have just arrived from the Breath of God onto planet earth. Perhaps reaching the critical mass of His People — calling them to pray so He will heal our land — is the most important task we can possibly do right now for God.

Today’s Prayer: Dear God, we have sinned and fallen short. We exercise such gratitude that You were willing to sacrifice Your Son to save our souls. Lord, forgive us our transgressions, known and unknown. Dear Lord, as we weep for our countries, we pray for strength for our presidents and for the other true leaders across the World. Thank you for always giving us an option to return to You. Thy will be done. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
