Whistleblowers all over the world face a hard road and personal attacks. An Italian vaccine expert Dr. Vittorio Demicheli, of the Cochrane Vaccines Field, now faces possible legal action by his colleagues for taking a stand against too many vaccines and possible vaccine-industry corruption in his country.
A vaccine expert who criticized plans to expand Italy’s national vaccination program has been threatened with legal action by government medical officers. He told The BMJ that some of the 20 health officials responsible for the revised schedule had received grants or payments from the industry. Demicheli added that the timetable set out in the national vaccination plan was “a faithful copy of the 2014 Calendar for Life,” a vaccination guide sponsored by the drug industry.
In their reply, the health officials—who included the chief medical officer, Roberta Siliquini; the director general for the Italian Pharmaceutical Agency, Luca Pani; and the president of the Italian Society of Pediatrics, Giovanni Corsello—said that Demicheli’s statement was, “false and also dangerous to public health.” The officials threatened legal action, stating that they were ready to take “all necessary steps, including criminal and civil actions, to protect their reputations harmed by Demichelli’s statements.”
Demicheli stuck to his guns, however, saying, “They failed to address any of the points I made, and simply threatened me.”
Attacking the messenger when a messenger’s science and logic cannot be refuted is now the most common method used by pro-vaccine advocates to silence opponents. The lone messenger is attacked by a pack of wolves. Notice that at least three health officials have joined together against Dr. Demicheli, threatening legal action to “protect their reputations.” They were apparently caught with the proverbial hand in the cookie jar.
In the U.S., we saw the vociferous attacks by the media-supported pharmaceutical wolves who were determined to destroy the life and career of Dr. Andrew Wakefield. We saw the media publicly and repeatedly embarrass cardiologist,Jack Wolfsen, DO for speaking out about problems with vaccines. And when the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Board dismissed his case, the exoneration was barely mentioned by the mainstream news-dogs. We’ve seen government health officials block testimony by Dr. William Thompson after he exposed that the CDC destroyed evidence linking the predominate connection between the MMR vaccine and autism in African-American boys.
But the personal, professional and legal attacks on those who uncover fraud are not unique to healthcare. There have been:
- IRS Whistleblowers
- In 1999, Senior IRS appraiser, Matthew N. McErlean, made a report to protect tax payer rights. He commented, “The only visible result to date is that I have been the subject of adverse and retaliatory personnel actions.” He lost his job, his pension. The media avoids IRS whistleblowers and their stories, until they are sued by the Government. Then the media destroys these people while failing to mention these were former IRS agents with a great deal of background in taxation.
- NSA/CIA/FBI Whistleblowers
- Unless you have been living under a rock for the last several years, the revelations brought forth about NSA spying by Edward Snowden are well-known by everyone. Instead of being honored as a national hero, he has been banished to Russia with U.S. officials trying to coax him back “to get a fair trial” for violating the Espionage Act.
- Former Justice Department lawyer Jesselyn Radack, former senior NSA official Thomas Drake; and former CIA officer John Kiriakou risked their careers, their families and even their lives to expose illegal and dangerous government programs. The documentary, SILENCED, by director James Spione, shockingly reveals the extraordinary lengths our government will take to destroy a whistleblower through a sustained campaign of intimidation and harassment.
A list from Wikipedia shows many whistleblowers, across many industries: drug companies, the SEC and the U.S. military. And even when an informer proceeds through a long, emotionally and financially draining trial and eventually receives an award for “lost earning and non-economic damages,” as did terminated UC Davis employee Janet Keyzer, the cumulative devastation to the person’s life and career far exceeds any amount of money paid to close the case.
The individuals who expose abuses of government, large corporations and the vaccine industry are beyond brave. They risk it all – their jobs/careers, their savings/retirement, their reputation, their family, their future – to lay bare the deeds of the corporate and government “protected classes.” As stated by Snowden in a recent interview:
“They have ability to know and target anyone… They know everything about us and we know nothing about them – because they are secret, they are privileged, and they are a separate class… the elite class, the political class, the resource class – we don’t know where they live, we don’t know what they do, we don’t know who their friends are. They have the ability to know all that about us.”
I recall a comment in one of Snowden’s early interviews. He had waited a long time to expose the NSA’s atrocities, not because he was concerned about government retaliation. His biggest fear? No one would care. No one would talk. That the revelations would be met with sighs of indifference, mere interruptions in txts and tweets, rather than screams of outrage.
And screams of outrage regarding the exposure of problems with vaccines should be ringing around the globe. More are coming out every week, every day. Vaccination is systematically destroying human DNA, leading to chronic illness, infertility and even death. The same indifference toward government intrusion that allowed indiscriminate phone and email tapping will allow forced vaccine mandates for all – even adults – unless we mount a collective outrage.
Support the brave souls who take a contrarian view and refuse to march lock-step with known industry lies and half-truths. Share their stories. Support their work. There are far too few of us.
