Big Pharma donates a lot of cash to political campaigns. And they reap a lot of benefit from those donations in the way of asserting political influence and clout. Vaccine mandate laws can be traced to this behavior exactly. California Senator Richard Pan took donations from Big Pharmaceutical companies and eventually wrote legislation which eventually became SB277 and forced all children attending public schools to receive Government recommended vaccine schedules. Big Pharmaceutical companies have deep pockets and politicians are greedy people. And while I can’t say I respect the game, I can say that that the game should at least be fair, wouldn’t you agree?
Well it isn’t fair at all if you are a legal marijuana business in the state of Illinois. In fact, it isn’t even close to fair. Any politician who chooses to accept campaign donations from marijuana business in Illinois could be fined. According to AllGov.com.
Accepting campaign contributions from medical cannabis cultivators can result in fines ranging between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on the office a candidate is seeking. Ball and Schluter are running for comptroller and state representative, respectively.
Illinois enacted the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program in 2014, legalizing medical marijuana. But the state’s first medical marijuana dispensaries didn’t open until this month.
Well, politicians in Illinois have no issue taking other drug money, like Pharmaceutical money, right? Ask Pfizer, here is their donation list, the red arrow noting an Illinois senator.
Are you comfortable with the Government picking and choosing which drug companies can help finance campaigns for politicians who will ultimately benefit them? In addition, in many circles, marijuana is considered an alternative medicine solution to pharmaceutical company solutions, so really this is the ultimate form of discrimination. If we want to fix the broken system of buying politicians, then lets do that, but don’t use the same crony system to discriminate against business interest. This isn’t a pick and choose game. Marijuana is legal, they have a legal right to sue under discrimination laws. And hopefully they do.
You think this doesn’t matter? Think again, because Pharma is already throwing down their influence in the state.
SB 751 was introduced on 2/3/2015 and referred to assignments. The bill is sponsored by Senator Michael Hastings.
The bill provides that a dentist who administers vaccinations at a public health clinic without charge to the patient or the receipt of a fee or compensation from that clinic, shall not be liable for civil damages as a result of his or her acts or omissions in providing vaccinations, except for willful or wanton misconduct.
Yep, a dentist can give you a vaccine that injures you and so long as they didn’t take your money, they are protected by the Government.
