The Harvey Weinstein fallout has been dramatic, unorthodox, and somewhat not surprising, depending on who you talk to. But aside from Hollywood elites such as Weinstein, other “pro-science” moralist exist to lecture us on how we should raise our kids, buy our cars and live a life compliant with their own. But do they live that life? Much like the Hollywood elites, it is likely they don’t come close to meeting their own standards.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson has long pushed “science” on us. He claims that not believing in climate change or vaccines makes you anti-science, a term used to implicate the “non-believer” as some sort of brainless zombie.
But it seems Tyson will now have to take some time away from lecturing 8-year olds over vaccines and potentially answer some questions regarding a major allegation that the astrophysicist drugged and raped a woman while in college.
A self-described “musician, healer, and teacher” named Tchiya Amet is accusing Tyson of doing such. She claims to have studied at the Galactic Astronomy in the graduate program at the University of Texas in Austin with Tyson, where she also claims he drugged and raped her.
She posted the following on Facebook:
He offered me a glass of water. I accepted a liquid in a cup made out of a coconut shell. I recall coming back to consciousness briefly, then next thing I remember is seeing him in the hallway the next day. I have lived in this nightmare for 30 years, and it stops today.
I know this will be difficult for many of you to believe, understand or to know. However, know that this is the truth. Those who know me well can attest to the fact that I lived with undiagnosed PTSD of [at] least 25 years.
She also claims Tyson stunted her career.
He talks about obstacles to reaching his goal of astrophysicist. Did anyone slip him a mickey? Perhaps this was his way of eliminating the competition….what a scam YOU are Mr. Tyson…
How does it feel to know that YOU are the reason there is one less [black] female galactic astronomer on this planet? Yes, YOU. How many freshman students did you give A’s to when they were failing? Were they really failing, or was that just an easy way to get free blow jobs?
The media has largely avoided the claims, maybe due to Tyson not being a top of the food chain elite type. But Tyson is most certainly a ham for the camera who never fails to lecture us on how we should be living our own lives. The allegations could be false, that’s not for us to say, but one thing is clear, throwing rocks in glass houses mostly results in a room full of broken glass at your feet.
